This wildflower is commonly found in swampy areas and along stream banks. Marsh marigolds grow in shallow water or grow on small mounds holding the plant just above the water. During their dormant period the soil must not be allowed to dry at all. Marsh Marigolds can be seen early in the spring. They can be transplanted and do well in a water garden.
